Support our work

Your support is of great importance for our work against torture and treatment of torture survivors.

Ways to support DIGNITY

Your contribution will go to:

  • treating refugees who have been subjected to torture and have been granted asylum in Denmark
  • preventing torture through information, documentation and training
  • researching into new methods of treatment and the consequences of torture
  • supporting our partner organisations in a series of countries where there are or have been torture. These organisations work according to the same scope of work as DIGNITY.

TORTURE IS A DRAG ON HUMAN RIGHTS AND DEMOCRACY

Torture has been called ‘the mother of all human rights violations’. As long as a country practices or tolerates torture, people will be reluctant to speak, assemble and participate in the political life. Stopping torture is the first step towards improving human rights in general.

Wrong place at the wrong time

Millions of people are tortured worldwide. Did you know that primarily poor people or people with a different opinion, religion or ethnicity are tortured? Often they are merely at the wrong place at the wrong time.
